Boathouse Network is a service offering of Interactive North. Unlike tower deployments where Interactive North typically service a relatively small number of subscribers over a large geography, delivering service in higher density lakeside markets means getting much closer to subscribers using smaller MicroPoP hub locations. Targeting higher-density markets requires a completely new technology architecture and deployment approach versus traditional centralized tower deployments.
Boathouse Networks compact and elegant equipment is uniquely designed for rooftop hosting locations. Homeowners agree to serve as hub homes in exchange for discounted service, an approach which is considerably more scalable than typical tower based networks. The MicroPop network lets us deploy into narrow bays and work around hilly terrain to service areas that have been un-serviceable from our tower based network
Setting up a MicroPoP does not involve digging, trenching or overhead cables associated with wired access technologies. The Access Point and Client devices are designed to be compact and inconspicuous. Generally installed within premise rooflines, Boathouse network equipment is the antithesis of unsightly cell phone towers.
